Loved K Trackers' log...he sure isn't afraid of saying what he feels! It was fortunate that we didn't do the 713 hike when we originally intended or we would have had to make a return trip to get this one. To the CO, this cache puts you off the regular trail and forces you to do some intense (for me) scrambling to get back up to 713. Just want future cachers to know that they need to backtrack about 300 feet and go right at the intersection. I remember the arrow made from small rocks pointing the right way, but today it was covered in snow. Thanks for doing what you normally do...providing fun for cachers!

Great hike today with estes01! It’s been years since either of us had hiked 713. I used to own a cache further up the trail, but with access problems first due to the Waldo Canyon Fire, then increased security in the Air Force Academy, I had to move my cache elsewhere. Thanks to estes01’s ID, we were able to get to the trailhead this morning.
The wind was strong and the trail was snowy most of the way. We followed the trail past the big arrow (which we didn’t see due to the snow) and on to the cache. I traded out a TB and we were on our way again - but now on the wrong trail. Nothing some steep bushwhacking wouldn’t fix! The wind really hit when we got to Blodgett’s Shadow Ridge and it kept getting stronger as we went on toward Epic Day.
Fun cache, a favorite! TFTC!

Very fun afternoon on a great hike out and back at times hard to believe......
When I get older losing my hair
Many years from now
Will you still be sending me a Valentine
Birthday greetings bottle of wine
If I'd been out till quarter to three
Would you lock the door
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four
You'll be older too
And if you say the word
I could stay with you
I could be handy, mending a fuse
When your lights have gone
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings go for a ride
Doing the garden, digging the weeds
Who could ask for more
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four
Every summer we can rent a cottage
In the Isle of Wight, if it's not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera, Chuck and Dave
Send me a postcard, drop me a line
Stating point of view
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely, wasting away
Give me your answer, fill in a form
Mine for evermore
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four
And still looking for more!
Thanks for a fun afternoon in the foothills!

What a remarkable hike!! I got my 5.5-year lonely cache and you got Blodgett's Shadow...couple those goal achievements with some good company, a few bonus caches, and perfect weather...it doesn't get much better. Thanks for placing this one as a tribute to a special day. Love the logs so far - glad others have had memorable adventures with this one, too!
For the record (in case K Tracker's hilarious Ice Cave log GC2C7E undermined his credibility when it comes to reporting on my health), I am guilty as charged this time. Did this one with a broken arm! Granted, I didn't KNOW it was broken yet (just thought I had banged it up really well that morning), and I wasn't about to cancel this hike. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss!
Other times, you really do need two hands to cache in these mountains. Truly, I couldn't have gotten up to one of the bonus caches without "a little help from my friends" - YamaGypsy pulled me up a steep slope and RPieperCO assisted me down. Thank you both! Thanks also to Hartsdale, who graciously waited until Sunday to do this hike with us and didn't snag the lonely cache early. :-) I hope to still be chasing hidden treasures in the mountains "when I'm sixty-four" like him! Great day. TFTC.
