It was indeed a bear getting there. Surely there was a better way! Well, after reading previous logs, perhaps not. And I wish I had read the previous logs first, and so known to BRING A NEW CONTAINER (for subsequent cachers). The hint led me to the tucked away log book. Amazing that it is still there. I only had small baggies, but they might provide some additional protection until more help can be provided. Thanks, RAW/KDW, for placing this oldie.

Parked at the trail head. Once we made it across the beavers' mess and the meadow we followed the powerline road/trail right to the cache. The trail is faint but it is there. Just follow the pink ribbons that dot the trail every so often. Great views from GZ, especially of the distant snow covered mountains. Found the cache cairn empty, the logbook half eaten, and the container in a million pieces all over GZ : tiny blue plastic chunks and what was left of a duct tape strip. We had no supplies so we just returned the logbook to the cairn. Never would have enjoyed this spot without the cache excuse, so thanks!

Yes it was! Fairly steep and the beavers make getting across quite a chore.

I had two remote caches I wanted to find today, and this was one of them. This was a tough hike for an old guy. I thought there might be a trail leading up here, but I only found some game trails to follow part of the way. Mostly I just bushwhacked it. For me the terrain seemed harder than a "3". The hint really helped narrow down the search. I signed the log, and I added a couple of 1950s wheat straw pennies and some Get Out of Hell Free cards. When I opened the container the lid cracked. If we get a heavy rain or snow this winter it may leak. The next person that comes up might want to bring a replacement. I sat there and enjoyed the view for a while and snapped some photos that I will post. I'm really glad to get this "oldie" off my to do list. Thanks to previous cachers for helping to maintain this one.

I had sometime to use up so I went up for this one.

Cache is in good shape after a wet winter and spring.

Thanks for keeping it going!

Brought a walking stick, and I was glad I did -- for the descent! Left a lanyard.

Today @ 1610 hrs. Visiting from AZ. We looked for this one last year but had to return before finding it had to turn back (unfavorable conditions) This years visit we were successful. More bushwacking than I would have liked but was unfamiliar with the trail system. Found it along with dcmiller40 crew. SL, TN, L-mini deputy sheriffs badge. (May have dropped a blue ball point pen near the cache but did not discover it missing at the time. TFTC.

SL TFTC #152 Caching Oak Creek Road, Canon City & Florence with dew2hunt. It was a bear! T-bungee cord L-black race car. Cache container needs to be replaced, the lid is cracked. I taped the lid with duct tape, should last awhile until someone brings a new container.
