Ahhh, Friday night. A good night for finding... geocaches. After work I drove way up north to the Johnstown/Kelim area to grab some more of the coCreation letterbox series. Along the way I grabbed whatever was in my path - like a hurricane hitting Limon, Colorado. Before beginning I stopped at Duluth to grab some more durable pants. Since I started geocaching I've noticed that normal jeans don't hold up. But I digress. During my journey I saw red tailed hawks, a handful of prairie dogs, a few mice, and only one snake - it was dead :( Just as dusk arrived I looked to the south and saw that I was in over my head. The thunderstorm, which my phone warned me was causing chaos at DIA, had formed a skirmish line to the south of me. I tried driving through it and found myself caught in the 4th hail storm of this season. Luckily, I still haven't repaired the damage :) I ended the night with one geocache in Denver and then Sonic with my geo-buddies, 2LabLovers.
Answers sent. Hard to believe this was the site of history so many years ago.

This was an amazing location for a cache. We learned a little history about Greeley, CO and the landscape was beautiful. A very fun and unique experience. Thanks for placing and maintaining! The answers were sent by Angeloak.

We were in town from the East Cost, and drove from Denver to Cheyenne, and picking up the caches with favorite points along the way. This is my favorite cache of all of the ones in Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska that we found. I associate it with a novel I read as a youngster. Thank you for bringing us off of the interstate to this amazing piece of history.

One more stop before heading back to the campground. The sun was setting over the mountains, and it was such a beautiful sight. The history lesson here was interesting, and something I never would have know about if it wasn’t for geocaching. TFTC!

Day 2 of an epic 6 day journey out to the western frontier. I had some vacation time that I needed to burn up by the end of the year, and what better way to use it than to go Geocaching! My main goal was to find caches in New Mexico and Nevada, which would complete my map in the western US. The rest of the 4 remaining states are on the East Coast. Secondary goals were to find oldies, mostly virtuals, and high favorited caches. The only bad part of the trip was that it rained every single day of my vacation.
I headed south out of MN on Sunday and returned home on Friday.
Sunday - Drive all the way through to Colorado (15 hours!)
Monday - Cache in and around Denver and Colorado Springs
Tuesday - Head south towards GC19 and then west through Wolf Creek Pass
Wednesday - Four Corners monument and west towards Nevada
Thursday - After a night in Richfield, UT, head east through the skiing areas of Colorado towards Nebraska
Friday - The long drive home
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing these caches for me to find and for keeping the oldies going all these years.
Very cool virtual and some neat history.

I have to admit, I have mixed feelings about seeing such a place in person. I have seen this on the History Channel some time ago, and it always infuriated me to know our POW's never enjoyed such good experiences or quality of life while in captivity during any "modern" war. Nevertheless, thank you for bringing me here. Answers were sent to the CO. TFTC

I grabbed this one in light rain as I took a break from heavy traffic on my way to an event in Loveland. My answers will be on their way shortly after I carefully gathered them from all the signs at GZ. Good job and TFTC!
