Flash Gordon, hero of Earth, landed his rocket on Mongo, drawn by a mysterious energy signature. Before him, a colossal obsidian cube hummed ominously, casting a metallic shade over the vibrant landscape. It was the Borg.

Driven by their insatiable hunger for technology and knowledge, the Borg had crossed dimensions, targeting the technologically advanced Mongo. Flash, ever the defender, rallied Dale Arden and Zarkov, their faces grim against the chilling hum.

Their attack was a whirlwind of rocket blasts and laser beams, but the Borg adapted. Drones swarmed, analyzing, mimicking, learning from each attack. Soon, Flash's raygun mirrored the Borg's own, Dale's energy shield flickered against adapted beams, and even Zarkov's cunning strategies were anticipated.

Frustration battled fear as Ming the Merciless, opportunistic as ever, offered an alliance. Flash, wary but desperate, agreed. Ming's technology, combined with Flash's agility and Dale's intelligence, offered a glimmer of hope.

But hope proved fleeting. One by one, they fell. Ming's technology, assimilated, turned against them. Zarkov, his strategies anticipated, was captured. Dale, her spirit flickering, resisted to the last, only to be overcome.

Flash, cornered, fought with the fury of a dying star. Yet, the drones were relentless. A beam pierced his shoulder, nanobots swarmed, and the chilling hum infiltrated his mind. He screamed, a primal roar echoing through the cube, as his memories, skills, and even the echoes of the Spirit of Mongo were devoured.

Flash Gordon was no more. In his place stood Borg drone 678-X, powerful, emotionless, a perfect addition to the collective. His iconic raygun hummed with the collective consciousness, his agility enhanced by Borg efficiency. He stood alongside assimilated versions of Dale and Zarkov, their individuality extinguished, replaced by the cold logic of the Borg.

Ming, initially triumphant, soon realised his folly. As the Borg assimilated his technology and turned his own guards against him, he tasted the bitter fruit of his betrayal. His screams, swallowed by the hum, joined the mournful symphony of Mongo's subjugation.

Drone 678-X, a flicker of Flash Gordon buried deep within, observed the destruction unfolding. A faint echo of Dale's defiance, a memory of Zarkov's cunning, a whisper of Mongo's spirit – these flickered like embers in the darkness.

The Borg, now armed with Flash's skills, Dale's knowledge, and a connection to the Spirit of Mongo, turned their sights on Earth. The battle against assimilation had shifted dimensions, leaving behind a chilling silence where heroes once stood. Yet, amidst the hum, a faint spark remained, a glimmer of hope that even in the face of assimilation, the echoes of individuality could someday reignite, and the heroes of Mongo, in their own way, might yet save the galaxy.

Joined up this morning with GanderGoose to attend the Leap Day with the 77's event and cache run in the nearby vicinity. This turned out to be a group logging as geysers123, Denbomans, Soloyo and ForkLMan arrived at the same time we did. So sad you had to cancel your event today but so glad to log one of your new caches robuster91. TFTC and placement.

After attending a great 77s Leap Day event, mooseyaround and I went on a caching adventure. It was pretty crowded here with several cachers arriving at the same time. Thanks for the placement, robuster91!

My first stop of the morning before going to a Leap day event. There were no muggles about and I could make a quick find.
