This cache is hidden on the trail that leads to Goat Mountain in Waterton Canyon. This is the sixth in a series of caches. In order to find the seventh in the series, you will need to find three of the first six. In order to find the eighth in the series, you will need to find the other three among the first six.

It's about a mile walk to where the big pipes are. Then, up you go. It's a steep climb especially for the first half of the hike. Then it levels out some. The total climb is about 400 feet. A heart pounder going up and slippy coming back down.

Most caches in this series are along trails in open space areas west and southwest of Denver. A few are farther out there.

On the inside of the lid of this cache you will find a 3 digit number that you should make note of because it will be important for solving the puzzle in either the seventh or eighth cache in the series.

Beware of rattlesnakes in snake season! Oh, and bring your own pen.

TM 31 clue: goose egg

Another great cache off the beaten path. Figured I could get this one after the hard part was over after getting to “On the trail to goat mountain”. Great view, nice trail once you hit the ridge. I left a TB - Bechtel Scout. Here’s hoping it is safe here and finds someone nice to carry it to some new places and drop it in another far away cache.
By the way, I also left a matchbox car, and a pirate coin to go with the other pirate themed items in the cache. TFTC

Enjoyed this short hike after riding further up the canyon to find some other caches. Saw a bighorn traffic jam on the way back and was happy that I had already been up to Goat Mountain so I could call this as the high point today. Nice views, and fine weather - thanks for the hide!

Found my 3rd of 6! Very challenging climb and I'm happy I had my trekking poles for the hike down. I was determined to find this as it was difficult for me. This series of caches have taken me to locations I would not have gone to otherwise. TFTC!

Took the geo horse up to Lenny's Rest today to pick up the few caches I had remaining in this area. It was a perfect day. Waited to go for this one on the way back down just in case the weather decided not to cooperate, but it actually got better later in the afternoon. Had to stash the pony out of sight in the gully above the pipes and hope he stayed safe in order to make the steep climb to this one. I remember another cache up this way, but not quite so far. One of these days I'd like to make the hike on up to the peak, but will have to be on a non-riding, non-dog hiking day, so that will be tough.

Main goal of the day and got it! Saw a rattler on the way and also a bird's nest with babies. Thanks for this great series and for not putting near the summit.
