This cache is along the West Monument Creek Trail (Forest Service Trail 713) starting on the U.S. Air Force Academy and moving into the Pike National Forest. This trail has a large dirt road component and one pretty steep section of trail (where the most difficult hiking is) up and over a ridge to bypass a city owned piece of land. The trail leads to the Northfield reservoir. A nice hike, with scenic views to the south of Colorado Springs and the Air Force Academy.
Visitors to the Air Force Academy may enter through either the North Gate, which can be accessed from Exit 156B on Interstate 25, 14 miles north of downtown Colorado Springs, or from the South Gate, which can be accessed from Exit 150 on Interstate 25. For more information, call the Visitor's Center at 719-333-2025. The Academy is open to visitors daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Visitor's Center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. More information available at http://www.usafa.af.mil/information/visitors/

Great day of caching with CM06 today! This was our last cache before we tackled the WWII Crash Site. Had lots of GPS bounce so I put the GPS away and just used my Geo-senses. Quick find after that. Traded trackables! TFTC!

This was our turn around point for the day as we eyed the plane crash next. The coords had me anywhere but close but a little persistence on Jason's part paid off and the hide was found. What a great day today with the GCCO prez just hiking and caching through the valley I see almost every day! Thank you for a great adventure today! Cheers.
