Traveling from Cripple Creek, CO to Elko, NV.

Thank you for the great virtual cache and telling us about the history.

PS The snow was very deep at both Point 1 and 2 so we are doing our best to answer all the questions.

Today I took a geo-roadtrip starting in Frisco, heading down to Vail, then down beautiful Route 24 to Leadville. The weather was great - mostly cloudy but warm, which made for a perfect day of caching. I loved this virtual cache! Growing up in Colorado I always knew of the Tenth Mountain Division, but I never learned as much about the history as today! It's amazing the contributions the division made not just in the war but to skiing and outdoor recreation. Thanks for the virtual cache highlighting these two interesting and important sites!!

Found on an earlier trip from Houston to Grandlake via the "long" way (but scenic way) with the second night spent in Leadville. Answers sent to the CO. A favorite

Day 5 of an epic 6 day journey out to the western frontier. I had some vacation time that I needed to burn up by the end of the year, and what better way to use it than to go Geocaching! My main goal was to find caches in New Mexico and Nevada, which would complete my map in the western US. The rest of the 4 remaining states are on the East Coast. Secondary goals were to find oldies, mostly virtuals, and high favorited caches. The only bad part of the trip was that it rained every single day of my vacation.

I headed south out of MN on Sunday and returned home on Friday.
Sunday - Drive all the way through to Colorado (15 hours!)
Monday - Cache in and around Denver and Colorado Springs, with an attempt at Pike's Peak (closed at Mile 14)
Tuesday - Head south towards GC19 and then west through Wolf Creek Pass
Wednesday - Four Corners monument and west towards Nevada
Thursday - After a night in Richfield, UT, head east through the skiing areas of Colorado towards Nebraska
Friday - The long drive home

Thanks to all the cache owners for placing these caches for me to find and for keeping the oldies going all these years.
Very cool history that, as a vet, I truly appreciate. Thanks for bringing me here!

We are in our last week of a month long geocaching trip to Colorado. Took a little day trip today to Leadville to do some caching. Stopped here to do this virtual. We love military memorials. Thanks for placing. Answers sent

After dropping Jenn back off at the Colorado Trail so she can continue her journey to Durango, I took the time to find a few caches before heading back home.

The required answers have already been sent to the cache owner.

Out from Atlanta exploring Colorado with FLtravelers for a few days. He was able to finish all his counties, while I made more progress on the state. Lots of fun caches were found along the way, including this one.

Very nice history lesson and monument.

Flew out to Denver with zanna to grab a cache in the smattering of counties I had left in Colorado. Along the route we stopped for highly favorited caches, virtuals, earthcaches, webcams, Colorado's oldest, and whatever else that looked interesting. This was certainly one of these. Great spot. As I neared cache 10,000 I wanted to pick a cache that had a meaning. So what better way to commemorate my find and to pay a small tribute to the men and women who gave up so much. 10,000 cache, 10,000 feet, 10 @ Ten(n). Thanks for the virtual. On to Stage 2. Answers emailed.

I'm currently on a 12 day road trip from Indiana to Colorado and my goal is to get caches in as many counties along the way as I can. I lived in Gunnison for 4 years during college and haven't been back to the area for 10 years. I had kind of forgotten how great western Colorado is. I need to come back here more often.

Today I traveled from Telluride to Vail via Aspen and Leadville. Picked several more counties in the process. Thanks for the hide.
