Dogs  Recommended for kids  Scenic view  Dangerous Animals  Abandoned mines  Motorcycles  Quads  Off-road vehicles  Horses  Medium hike (1km-10km)

Starting at 1st. St and temple canyon(Cr-3) go up 4.3 miles to concrete pillar(T marks spot) turn left.go up 100 feet park on left. If you have a four-wheel drive, keep driving, or get out and hike.
This is a moderate to difficult four wheel path. But can be done. Its also a fun hike(about an hour). three or four inclines but a lot of semi-level walking. It overlooks canon city. Our whole family went on this including my 6 year old.
cache is in an ammo can. Contents:supply line, sun glasses, rubber ball. A cool homemade pin cushion my wife made, garage hook, etc. If you wanted to keep going on this trail it would take you to an old mining camp.( About another half hour). We have found an old cave with a stick and leather ladder inside, hidden by a hundred year old scrub oak. No visitors but us for a hundred years I bet.(Maybe a future cache?)

Three years lonely, lonely no more! This cache has been on my radar for about 4 years. I actually tried to get here once before, but my path was blocked by a gate with a big NO TRESPASSING sign on it. Today I drove a little farther on Temple Canyon Road and parked at N 38º 23.993' W 105º 17.530' and hiked up the wash. At N 38º 23.626' W 105º 17.767' I came to a fork. I took the right fork as that was the direction of the cache. Eventually I came out on the road only about 300 feet from the cache. From there it was a nice easy walk to ground zero.

Both my Garmin eTrex and iPhone pointed to the same spot at ground zero. After a thorough search I determined that the cache was either missing or in another spot. I expanded the search area without success. Thinking the container may have been dislodged and slid down the hill I scrambled about 50 feet down, but still couldn't find anything. Fortunately I had a spare container in my pack and left it as a replacement. I didn't have any way of fastening it in the tree so I put it at the base and covered it with rocks. The replacement is a 16 oz jar covered with black gaff tape. I put in some swag and a virgin travel bug.

The views from the cache are amazing. I wish I had brought my binoculars. I think I could have seen my house from here. The hike up was not too bad, but I did have to scramble in a couple of places. Maybe with the waypoints I've added more cachers will come and hunt for this one. The round trip hiking distance is less than two miles. The views are worth the hike.

Thanks for a great cache!

Hiked in from the main road - great way to kick start getting into shape the summer season of hiking, caching and elk hunting! Cache looks to be in great shape and still "high and dry". Dropped some swag and signed log. TFTC!

Warm, late spring hike. The road is now closed off at the top of the first hill so it's a hike to get there. Well worth the walk for the views. TNLN Thanks!

WEll. I wish I would have hiked on the road instead of following the GPS and bushwacking my way up and down the hills. The road is in bad shape in spots. Glad I didin't try to drive to the cache.A motor cycle or ATV would do great to get this one.Grabbed the TB to move on. SL TFTC
