This complex of boulders lies just outside the Air Force's Farish Recreation Area. The cache is not in any of the many tunnels, passageways, or caves, but the more adventurous might wish to explore the maze. From the cache site, you will have a good overview of both the boulder field and you will be able to look down on Rainbow Reservoir inside the Air Force fence.

With a 4WD high-clearance vehicle, you will ordinarily be able to park at a small pullout at a trailhead on Forest Road 307A about 1/2 mile from the cache (see Additional Waypoints). In snowy weather or if your vehicle can't navigate 307A, pull off near the intersection of Rd 307 (Schubarth) and 307A - about a mile from the trailhead.

Cool area! Someone built a sort of ladder up to a rock that probably has an amazing view, but with no cell service I thought it best not to attempt. Tftc!

That is a pile o rocks! Of course I had to go around the wrong way at first but I did manage to find it after all. They sure didn't look this big on google earth! Tftc!

I was so glad I was able to easily drive my Santa Fe right to your 4WD parking spot which made this a nice hike to the boulder field. I was so glad this was a findable cache that didn't require death defying feats of bouldering but still got a good look at the area. I picked up the TB.

When I got to about 300-400 ft from the cache I ran into the boulder field. I was wondering if I should try and find a path through the boulders of if I should find a path around the boulders. I choose the later and that was a wise decision. Those were some big boulders. TFTC.

Trekked in to this cache with all 3 Kidz after grabbing the Mad March Hare enroute; nice cache with great views ! We traded some swag, stamped the log and dropped off a copy of a trackable of ours that has an unusual icon that is kinda rare -- the APE caches, of which only one still exists. Then, hiked on back out to the Jeep. TFTC !!!
