Dogs  Recommended for kids  Takes less than an hour  Scenic view  Parking available  Public restrooms nearby  Picnic tables nearby  Short hike (less than 1km)

Small tupperware on a hillside near the western end of Viestenz-Smith Mountain Park. Please do not attempt to access the cache directly from US Highway 34, as the shoulder is too narrow for safe parking.  The park is open during daylight hours, three seasons of the year.  Admission is free.  Parking and restrooms are available in the park. This park has been completely redesigned following the September 2013 flood which destroyed the park and washed away the previous cache. Wheelchairs and strollers can get very close to the cache, but accessing it requires a little scramble.

I stopped at the cache location vicinity with my puppies Orizaba and Chimborazo as we came down Big Thompson Canyon from the Estes Park area. It was a quick find and sign, and the cache is in good condition. Thanks for it W0AIR!!

This was our target cache for the day. Enjoyed a nice drive up the canyon from Loveland and then ended up not taking the easiest route to the cache... but we got to GZ and had it in hand quickly. Signed the log, and it was fun to see all of the signatures from the previous incarnation. This is a beautiful park and I hadn't visited since the flood, it was rebuilt very nicely. TFTC

Waawhoo, FTF this morning. So glad to see this park open again. Interesting revised cache. After pulling up the GC code GC16J** listed on the front cover. This guy has covered some ground. Thanks, WOAIR for the job you do for FEMA Region VIII in Denver.
