Me maties n I been searchin for our loong lorst pirate ship for 137 yars. Many a men been lost. Many battles were foughts, we found her restin in there hills N Colorad'r. Tosseled to peices R per girl she was. We placed this here box for ye to see our ship in wreck on Mt Hermie. Painted in rock O plants N shrubs ... nearly fooled thee ... alas, me girl be restin in them thar trees.

"Fifteen men on the Dead Man's Chest--
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!
Drink and the devil had done for the rest--
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!"
The mate was fixed by the bos'n's pike,
The bos'n brained with a marlinspike,
And Cookey's throat was marked belike
It had been gripped
By fingers ten;
And there they lay,
All good dead men
Like break-o'-day in a boozing-ken--
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!
Fifteen men of the whole ship's list--
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!
Dead and be damned and the rest gone whist!--
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!
The skipper lay with his nob in gore
Where the scullion's axe his cheek had shore--
And the scullion he was stabbed times four.
And there they lay,
And the soggy skies
Dripped all day long
In upstaring eyes--
In murk sunset and at foul sunrise--
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!
Fifteen men of 'em stiff and stark--
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!
Ten of the crew had the Murder mark--
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!
'Twas a cutlass swipe or an ounce of lead,
Or a yawing hole in a battered head--
And the scuppers glut with a rotting red
And there they lay--
Aye, damn my eyes--
All lookouts clapped
On paradise--
All souls bound just contrariwise--
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum.
Fifteen men of 'em good and true--
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!
Every man jack could ha' sailed with Old Pew--
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!
There was chest on chest full of Spanish gold,
With a ton of plate in the middle hold,
And the cabins riot of stuff untold,
And they lay there,
That had took the plum,
With sightless glare
And their lips struck dumb,
While we shared all by the rule of thumb--
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!
More was seen through the sternlight screen--
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!
Chartings ondoubt where a woman had been!--
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!
A flimsy shift on a bunker cot,
With a thin dirk slot through the bosom spot
And the lace stiff dry in a purplish blot.
Or was she wench...
Or some shuddering maid...?
That dared the knife--
And took the blade!
By God! she was stuff for a plucky jade--
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!
Fifteen men on the Dead Man's Chest--
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!
Drink and the devil had done for the rest--
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!
We wrapped 'em all in a mains'l tight
With twice ten turns of a hawser's bight
And we heaved 'em over and out of sight--
With a Yo-Heave-Ho!
And a fare-you-well!
And a sullen plunge
In the sullen swell,
Ten fathoms deep on the road to hell!
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!"

Glad I found it! What a hike. Really fun. Got to GZ and understood the references and the theme of the cache. I searched around a fair amount, concerned that it might be missing after two years lonely. Turned my head just right and glanced and noticed the container. Bam! There's a trashed campsite nearby with tons of broken glass. And they use this giant rock as cover for going to the bathroom. Yep. Disgusting. I rehid the cache container so it wasn't visible from the uphill side. But I'm certain it can still be seen. I retrieved a full, unopened beer from the cache. Why can't people just leave things along. TFTC!

Two years since the last signature. This cache qualifies me for a cache revival challenge!

My last cache was supposed to be two finds ago, and then one find ago. But I saw it and decided, what the heck, I'm already covered in scrub oak leaves and thorns, why not? It was dark by the time I got back to my car. Thankfully I was able to make it up to the cache and spot it rather quickly (despite my phone dying when I was at 50ft). Thanks for the cache in a neat location!

Wow! So much fun! Thanks for this wonderful cache! I've had this on my list for sometime, but have never stopped to tackle it. CrumbCrunchers is in town this week and wanted to go for a hike! We decided to go and grab the last couple caches we needed on the front side of Mt. Herman. There is a decent enough "trail" to follow to this spot from below and made for a fairly easy hike. We spotted the rocks described and I was very surprised and how well they matched the theme! Great finds! We found the awesome container also perfectly themed! Signed and stamped the log and replaced everything as found! Such a great cache and location. Favorite point on this one! Thanks again for another awesome DGS adventure!

Back in the Springs for the holidays. Met up with RPieperco after he got off work to tackle a couple caches. Loved the container. Fitting hide! Sl, thanks!
