Cowboy won a good size pot in a poker game in Durango and was carrying a lot of money. He knew there would be some shifty-eyed gunslingers on his trail. Cowboy knew the gunslingers would head straight for the saloon in Cortez. Cowboy planned on making a dry camp outside town tonight and visiting the Cortez bank early in the morning before the gunslingers following him had time to wake up and start watching the streets.

Cowboy left one of his saddle bags with some winnings behind in case gunslinger got the draw on him and would steal his poke. He knew he could always come back later for the hidden cash...if he was still alive. It would be a long ride home to his ranch near Yellowjacket and to see his girlfriend, Miss Lilly LaDue.

The cache is a large camouflaged container with lots of swag. The terrain is a little rough and the grass and bushes are stickery, but that is what makes geocaching fun. This is a quick chance to score one and hit the trail. If the cache is visited frequently then Cowboy will add new trackables

My first in Colorado! I used to spend a lot of time in Denver but before I started geocaching. I am in town to visit Mesa Verde and this was down the street from my hotel. A fun find and nice to see some larger caches out west (in the east we have too many micros!). TFTC!
