One of a series of caches recognizing figures from Pueblo's early days.

Charles Autobees was among the earliest settlers; in 1846 he secured part of the Nolan Land Grant at the site of the Taos Trail crossing of the San Carlos River, seven miles south of Pueblo. About 10 years later he started another settlement known as Autobees Plaza on the west side of the Huerfano River.

Most of the information to create this series came from the following three books: Pueblo, an Illustrated History by Eleanor Fry & Ione Miller. 2001. Heritage Media Corp. Carlsbad, CA Pueblo, a Pictorial History by Joanne West Dodds. 1982. The Donning Company/Publishers. Norfolk, VA They All Came to Pueblo: a Social History by Joanne West Dodds. 1994. The Donning Company/Publishers. Virginia Beach, VA

Took a little bit of while to find this and poking in everything I thought it might be in. Was surprised when I found it. Clever hide. Thanks I enjoyed it because I found it.
