!! Exciting New Cache Series!! “COLORADO SPIRIT QUEST” The Colorado Spirit Quest is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us. There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural and mountain communities across Colorado. This series will introduce you to many of them. The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries and tombstones. COLORADO SPIRIT QUEST is not affiliated with any other ‘Spirit Quest’ group. Special thanks and credit are given to SixDogTeam who started the Indiana Spirit Quest in 2004. The idea has rapidly spread into many states. The CSQ endeavor is an enormous and relentless task. It cannot be accomplished by just one or two people. This project will only flourish if there is a multitude of volunteer cachers willing to place these caches. After locating the cache container, take some time to reflect back on the lives of those pioneers and the effort it took to make Colorado such a great state. If you are interested in joining the “Walking Through History Clan” contact may be made by sending an e-mail to the owner of “Colorado Spirit Quest #1 – Mountain Passage”. Use the "Send Message” link at the center of the page of their profile. Each person that places a CSQ cache is responsible for its maintenance. REMEMBER: If you are APPREHENSIVE about cemeteries – AVOID this series. I have thought about this cache since visiting last April. I noticed that I was the last one to log a find since then and decided to do something about it! After searching high and low, I found a replacement! We were traveling to Denver and I made the fix! This cache is now back in operation! It really was a fun cache! I hope other cachers will stop, solve the mystery and make the find!!!! Happy caching!!!!! PS this cache is NOT what I would call Large. TBs will not fit!

Came up from Phoenix to do the Buena Vista Geotour with daughter, HelloRose before they ended it! Decided to grab smilies on our way back home! Couldn’t resist this one across from our favorite place to stay! We found all the clues and the “lid” for the caches container, a small pencil and some swag. We are not able to physically sign the log, so we will notify the CO. This was a great morning adventure and beautiful place to limber up the legs for long ride home! TFTC (Sent photo to CO to show proof. Wishes we could have replaced container.)

On our way back home to Phoenix after doing the Buena Vista GeoTour and stopping to visit with family here in town.

We enjoyed a little morning exercise and looking at some humorous and some beautiful gravestones! We found remnants of the cache, but the container is MIA. Will send photos to CO.

We came by Saturday after the parade and soon after we started the search, there appeared to be a funeral arriving near where we were searching for the 4th clue. So we decided to call it a day and come back on Sunday after breakfast. We had a wonderful visit with the Caretaker and he was interested in our game. He helped us with the two we were closest too and then he went on his way while we finished up the puzzle. We quickly found and logged in the final. Thanks for the Cache. SmileSmile This is getting a favorite from us.

Thank you nteclpr for this cache. Very interesting cemetery. We appreciate the effort extended. Enjoyed the hunt and we made the grab for the smiley on our first attempt which took about an hour. The only consideration that we have to offer is that since this is really a 7 stage venture to arrive at the hide for the log; the difficulty could easily be a 4 or 4.5 which would entice more geocachers. And of course this is a FAVORITE! SL LNTN

Down from Broomfield Colorado for the Crane Festival. I needed a mystery cache to complete the PI day requirements since I couldn't go to one of the PI day events in the Denver area. This was a great mystery cache and the final coordinates were very accurate. Thanks for taking the time to set this cChe up so I could learn about some of the well known people of Monte Vista. We're taking the scenic route from Denver to Albuquerque and stopping for the night at a nearby motel. There was enough daylight left to attempt this puzzle so we went for it and got it right on the first try. This was a well-planned and executed cache, and we enjoyed the search. Kudos. SL/TFTC!
