#3 Out of the Frying-Pan into the Fire

Out of the Frying-Pan into the Fire is the sixth chapter of J.R.R Tolkien's The Hobbit.  After escaping the Goblins, Bilbo finds Gandalf and the Dwarves and they continue their journey. Eventually, they are attacked by Wargs and forced to climb trees.  As Gandalf's tree goes up in flames and he prepares to jump to his death, the Lord of the Eagles swoops down and carries him away. The other eagles seize the Dwarves and Bilbo and carry them to their various eyries of the North before taking them to the Great Shelf.

Congratulations to R&B CO and hartsdale for being co-FTF !

10:47 AM Today we stopped at the farmer's market, as is our custom. We ran into our friends from Carroll Lakes, who had children and grandchildren in tow. We had a little field lab about geocaching at Memorial Park and bid the kids safe travel back to Dallas.

Then we came to Lovell Gulch to do an easier hike after a hard day yesterday. Well re-hidden by the last finder!

I signed the log.

Thank you, 3 Williams Kidz, for the geocache. I am adding a favorite point.

Great hike today with estes01. Seems like we were the only ones without dogs running off-leash. We met an adorable… uh, I don’t know what, (tiny dog?) on the way — so cute!

We were debating which trail to take. But it worked out in the end. Amazing tepee nearby. Perfect spot for the scouts. Really enjoying this hike.

TFTC After my start to this series yesterday was interrupted by a trip to the airport, I thought I would finish it today. It was a beautiful day for a walk in the forest.

All was in good order.
