COpackrat and I found the Storm Mountain cache 3 years ago and I remember looking down on this valley and wanting to hike there. We finally made it happen this year and I'm really glad we took the time. It's a great hike and we didn't see another soul all day. Thanks for bringing us up here. TFTC

And it's a nice view!! Enjoyed this fine hike up to "My Lakefront Property" finding several caches along the way. Thanks for bringing us up the beautiful valley!

I made the challenging hike up with Wichita Bogey. The log is in good shape and ready for more finders. The views were worth the journey. Thanks.

Found with Wichita Bogey. I made a quick find. Which was good considering the long hike.

When I learned that a part of our family trip from Crawford would include Silverton, a hike to this cache became a serious priority planning for me. So this morning my puppy Orizaba and I left the others behind and had a fantastic hike up to the cache location. The vistas from the cache (and from vantages along the way) are remarkable. I could see a bit of Pigeon, a peak I climbed from Ruby Creek 3 years ago in conjunction with Turret, Peak 15, and Jagged), but was a bit disappointed when I could not see Arrow and Vestal, the venues of a wonderful climbing trip last July. But the near views were astounding and will remain indelible in my mind! It was a physical effort reaching Ground Zero. Once there it was a different kind of effort: this cache is extremely well hidden, and it took time to eventually snag the find. I couldn't help but having a huge smile when I finally saw it!
From the old cabin location we still had a bit of an effort ahead for the relatively short hike from there up to the lake. Thanks, jake92, for these two splendid alpine caches!

Now, this is not a trail for everyone, but the terrain and views are spectacular. The cache is hidden well in an interesting venue. Can only imagine that miners from the nearby Silverton claim used this venue for shelter. BTW, the mine is interesting to look at, but not into. Immediately at the adit and broken rail is a shaft filled with snow. Probably fairly deep and no way out; be careful if investigating!! Well, on up the hill to the cache on the lakefront. Another plus about geocaching; the opportunity to see special places known to local cachers, thanks..
