Mtn pass connecting Hwy 50 and Hwy 285. awesome place on top for a picnic. 4wd of any kind will make this trip.
Hayden pass the site of a large blow down in 2007 that resulted in people getting trapped is still one of the most amazing places in Colorado. Great wild life and veiws.
The Cache contains wilderness type items such as ponchos, compasses, carabiners, first aid kits and so on. please replace with something useable in outdoor play.

We were heading up the pass in our F150 quad cab, short bed with 8" lift. Good thing we had the extra height as road on the west side had plenty of big rock drop offs and was plenty steep. I wouldn't consider it suitable for just any 4WD-you need some clearance on the west side. Left a Back Country Horsemen GuideBook. We passed 6 horseback riders & I wished I could have joined them.
