The cache is located in the Bliss SWA, this is a day use area, and gives fishing access to about 1 mile of the Poudre River.
This cache is named for the Copper John, a fly pattern developed by John Barr, he is a renowned tyer, author, from Colorado. The pattern was introduced in 1996, it took the flyfishing world by storm and by 2001 was the best selling fly pattern in the world. I have fished this pattern with great success on the very waters you are standing near. The stretch of river just to the west of the cache can be very productive at times. I placed this cache on a recent trip to the canyon. There is a size 12 Copper John for the FTF if you want it, (my version is slightly different than that of Mr. Barr's) my hope is that it will be used to catch fish. I will place some additional flies when I venture out this way, I'll leave a note when I drop them. Enjoy the cache and the beautiful canyon this river has carved out.

Not what I expected, but what fun to see with the mist on the peaks of the nearby hills. Thanks for the fun!

Was up in the canyon for some camping and fishing, stopped to check on this one, found in great shape at the base of the clue. had two flies still inside, added a dry fly (a green drake pattern) I had success with while fishing the area.

The cache belongs in the juniper, hence the clue. If someone could secure it back in the tree I would appreciate it, otherwise I'll take care of it when I come out in September, Thanx mobeone

Muggle friend spotted this while I was still assessing the area. Everything is in fine shape, although the cache might not be where it was originally placed. Coordinates were fine. Two flies were still in the container.
