Travel to the "peak" of Mt. Baldy in seek of an ammo can.
A recent trek to the nearby Mt. Baldy geocache had me intrigued about what might be at the top, so after finding it I continued onwards to the top. The 'peak' is really more of a gentle flat spot at the top, and while the view at that point isn't breathtaking there are definitely breathtaking views to be had on the hike to the top.
To get there you'll need to take County Road 67 east from the Alpine Plateau road (CR867). This is a rough road, and to progress very far along it you'll need a 4WD with high clearance. I was able to get my Honda Ridgeline to about a mile from the summit before I didn't feel comfortable continuing onward. I'll mark that spot as a related waypoint. From there I walked about a halfmile up to the end of the road, and then bushwhacked up to the peak.
Note that at one point I ran across a closed, but not locked, gate. Both my GPS and my DeLorme mapbook indicated that the public road continued onwards, and there were no signs indicating any kind of private property either on the gate or the fenceline as far as I could see either direction, so I drove through closing the gate behind me.
I had a great time working my way to this particular summit. I hope you enjoy it as much much as I did!
Congrats to elko dealers for FTF!

This was as close as I could get in my Honda Ridgeline. A jeep or other trail monster could probably get 1/2 mile closer. Anything without 4wd and high clearance will likely have to stop well before this point.
