An archaeological dig in a field just outside Stonekeigh has unearthed a circular plate decorated with symbols. After much research, historians have deduced that it shows an alternative zodiac with the year divided into eight (8) sections with the yearly sequence beginning with the start at the top (12 o’clock position) and moving clockwise ending with the crescent.
From the clues, can you work out the name of each zodiac period, the animal with which it was associated and the character trait expected of children born under those signs?
1 The year begins with the star sign of Lurgo and ends with the crescent.
2 Presco, under which sign actors were supposedly born, immediately follows in any one year the sign associated with jugglers and immediately precedes the sign of Rio the Horse.
3 The sign of Quorus immediately follows in the same year the sign of Zebra and immediately precedes the sign associated with slayers which, on the diagram, is shown directly opposite across the center from the sing of minstrels.
4 The sign of the stag is depicted by a pentagon, but isn’t associated with either actors or dancers.
5 The sign of the rabbit directly precedes in the same year the sign of the dog. The sign of the rat directly follows the sign of Hairies.
6 The sign of Crises immediately follows in the same year the sign of minstrels, but directly precedes the sign of the sheep. People born under the sign of the sheep are considered to be clowns.
7 The sign of bards is depicted by a square but isn’t associated with the boar.
8 The sign of the jesters is a shape with curves, but isn’t depicted directly across the center from the sign of the beaver.

Draw a circle with 8 segments labeled clockwise (to indicate sequential order of symbols)
1 – star (at top), 2-triangle, 3-semi-circle, 4-square, 5-circle (at bottom), 6 – elipse, 7 – pentagon and 8 – crescent
Fill in the table:
