Fun day of caching with LostinDenver and WindAtMyBack. Headed east hitting Limon, Hugo and Aroya. Got a total of 38 caches. It was a little hotter than we expected out on the plains but nothing unbearable. Naturally we didn't get as many as we wanted (do we ever?) but that just means we will have to make another trip ! Quick find.

Today I hooked up with @WindAtMyBack and @2lablovers to load up our covered wagon and head east. My covered wagon is a newer model, the FJ Cruiser made by Toyota. From Aurora we headed toward Limon and then migrated south and further east. It was a productive day. We managed to avoid bad weather (only a little sprinkling). Along the way we saw at least 15 hawks, a burrowing owl den, a burrowing owl, many other types of birds and one snake. Unfortunately this bullsnake crossed the road at the same time as a vehicle and we only found him lying there, motionless. We also checked out Arroyo, a ghost town. We also saw a bunch of prairie dogs, and most importantly, lots of caches! We found 38 out here and had a great time. Before ending our day we had visited Hugo, Limon, Boyero, and Bennett. Thanks for the fun! TFTC!

EDIT: Forgot to "reapply templates" in GSAK when logging.

Caching with my cousin, FWIA on the Hwy 71 corridor to Punkin Center then east for bicycle parts. day

Day started out fabulous then the sun started to warm up the roads. The mud got deeper to where we couldn't see out the windows. No cell service and no houses at which point we decided to find a paved road. We did however, finish the bicycle series, I think.

After being in knee-deep snow in some areas and replacing a few caches we ended the day with 55 caches. Thank God for FWIA having a 4-wheel drive vehicle or we might still be out there.

Thanks to the CO's for placing the caches.

Out and about caching with my cousin, HarvestMoon2. We decided today to head North a little and try our luck at grabbing some airplane & bicycle parts. We had started on the airplane parts last year. Even after today we still need to get the ones from Punkin Center North.

Grabbed those between Ordway & Punkin Center then headed East in search of parts to build a bicycle. It was easy going for the most part until we headed south, south of Hwy 94. The roads started to deteriorate very fast. Shock Holy smokes I just kept envisioning us sliding sideways into a ditch, stuck with no way to put out a distress call since there was no cell service. Onward and sometimes slightly sideways we kept sliding along just to finish a danged bike. Then, we really hit a mud road to end all mud roads. By this time my nerves were a wreck Dead (at least not my car). Thank God for 4-wheel drive. I don't think we would have made it without it. By this time all I wanted was a paved road. Finally made it to one and let me tell ya, what a relief!!!!!

On the day we finished with 55 caches, a partially complete airplane, and a completed bicycle. Oh, and a Red Rav4 that looked brown when we were finished. We walked through mud, snow up to our knees in places, and made use of our shovel TOTTS. We did replace some caches after giving a few areas a very thorough search.

Thanks for placing the caches that provided us a very fun and frantic day. Much appreciated. BigSmile
