[FTF] 09/17/2020 at 5:59 pm. This was my treasure of the day. I have a bizarre, unnecessary, extravagant personal challenge. I'm trying to blackout my calendar with FTFs. Right now I'm about 70 away from completing my goal. It leads me to do crazy things - like drive for 2 hours to get to a cache in the mountains after a long day of work. But it has also rewarded me with amazing experiences and beautiful views. Today I left Aurora at 3:30 pm. We headed west for an FTF in Westminster, but it was found before we arrived. So we diverted to this one. This one was already on my radar for a few reasons - 1 it's a Fork L Man cache. I know with will be a quality container. 2 he always has good coords. That's a perfect combination in my book! So we began the drive up, through road construction and the beginning of rush hour traffic.
Once off the busy roads we were treated to a beautiful view on the Peak to Peak Road. The aspens are beginning to turn to soft greens and bright yellow. When we neared the GZ I was excited and nervous. What if someone else, like me, who didn't have phone reception, had already found the cache? The container was quickly in hand, revealing a blank log sheet. Yatah! Another well done cache, FLM!
Today after work I searched for an FTF. First attempt was in Westminster. We were about 10 minutes away when I refreshed and discovered that it had been found. So, change of plans. Off to my original plan - an FTF near Rainbow Lake. It was a beautiful drive up with the changing aspens. Denver was about 85 degrees when we left and it was a nice cool 65 up here.
Thanks for the cache!
Did I mention the bear signs?
