We love geocaching my Daughter Found ammo can by accident looking for a marshmallow stick..... Lots of family history here also. my grandfather and dad used to run 3000 head of sheep up here for summer pasture. We spend a few nights camping up here every two years!!!! Cache is in good shape and swapped some goodies.

The first stage was very difficult but, the final was thankfully very easy. We could have driven the road, but I enjoyed the hike from where the road starts to climb up. Left 3 NPS pins. "Life is good!"

Bueno! GPSr gave us fits to the point of almost quitting at stage one. Finally the darn thing settled down to the correct coordinates. We hiked all the way in not being sure of the "road" from that point on. Several vehicles passed us. Few camps at the lake. Absolutely beautiful meadows on the way UP. The lake is nestled in a picturesque alpine setting. Quite a grunt for me but worth the effort. Gracias!

Found the micro just fine, but there were a lot of people at Kerr Lake and it was about to rain, so I saved the coordinates for another trip so as not to expose the cache around the crowd. The jeep road is really not that bad, considering some other roads in that area, and the scenery is worth the trip, as is the fishing. The burgers at the lodge in Platoro are also worth the trip.
