Bookcliff Wild Horse area, behind Cameo's old power plant. This is BLM land and is open to public. Four wheel drive recommended. The "road" winds in and out of the stream bed.
Coal Canyon is on the back side of Mount Garflied. Wild horses use this area during the winter and spring foaling season. The road is closed during this time to motor vehicles.
Due to extreme canyon bounce, the coordinates given are actually about 30 feet from ground zero. We suggest you go to the coordinates and look South and a little bit South West to get a better idea of ground zero. Please use caution getting to the cache, it requires some rock climbing skills and some common sense.
Bring your own pen or pencil.

Congratulations to Bearmoose & Whizzkid on FTF!

Nice ride into the back country, by the time I got to GZ, I was all alone. Good thing as I spent quite a while searching. Made the hike up and searched all along the edge in every pack rat hole I could find. Back down to the bottom, eyeball GZ again, back up top searching all areas again, back to the bottom. This continued for a while until I was just about ready to give up. Looking across the canyon and still don't see anything. Ok, now I'm ready to leave, a little upset at the coming DNF but still enjoying the ride back here. I decide to take one more approach just to see what is around a possible alcove corner when I spot the well camoed cache. Now it gets a little scary, time to nut up or shut up as they say in the movies. I was able to safely traverse and get the cache and I believe that I was officially the 6th person to sign the log. Just seeing the cache does not count as a find to me, this isn't hide and seek. Thanks for the canyon ride and the adrenaline rush.

Well since others are logging it as "found" when they just put eyeballs on it we will do the same! We looked and looked then finally spotted it but like you said ........use common sense so all we did was take a picture of it!! lol. It was all I could do to keep the wife from attempting to get it but she doesn't have THAT much life insurance!!!!! So it's a picture from about 6 feet away that will have to do!
