Cache has been moved from former site! It's now located on it's newer cousin, overlooking the truck swim site. It's still a quick cache and dash, BUT becareful.
The old black bridge was in service until the early 70's when the county and state replaced several of the bridges across the Colorado River. Now this bridge serves as a natural gas pipe support.

During the summer of 2008, a vacuum truck backed up to the river to get a load of water. The last thing the driver was heard to say was "I'm pretty sure I set the brake". The truck ended up in the river just around the bend, laying over on it's side like a dying whale. It sat in the river for about a month before being pulled out.

Stopped by on a rainy day. Cache in good shape, but the log paper was damp. Thanks for a bit of history! I always drive through this area without stopping to look around. Thought I would change that a bit today. Thanks!
