Dogs  Recommended for kids  Takes less than an hour  Scenic view  Available at all times

Easy walk to the Black Rock Valley, good view of the Valley and surroundings.

This cache is located in the Black Rock Valley. You entering the valley is not required. Heavy rock lifting is not required, about the size of a softball. As Boulder Dam holds the waters of the Colorado River, the concrete retaining wall holds the rocks of the Valley back. (The concrete wall is about 1 foot high so does not really hold back anything, but it makes a good story) Exploring next to the concrete wall will get you a find. 12 feet East of West end of concrete and you are very close.

Please don't pile other rocks on top of the cache rock. This is a cache finding adventure, not a rock lifting experiment.

You can sit on the wall and reach the cache if you take the relaxed way to cache. No need to enter rock valley, just a walk along the south side will get you a "Smiley" When you find the cache, you'll know you are in the string of things.

Sadly this one fooled us. Thinking it might be there but we didn’t find it this time. We’ll be back!

Difficulty rating needs to be adjusted or the cache should be confirmed. Searched for a long while and came up empty handed.

I did give this a pretty good look but the trail was full of muggles so didn't want to look like I was starting a construction project. No legitimate finds since last year & so many DNFs leads the CO to believe it is probably missing too.

Discovered that DryCreek Black Rock Valley becomes Black Rock Pond when snows melt. Turns out to be a community holding pond. This is not good for logs that don't swim. Moving a short distance away, to higher ground. Nothing "DryCreek" about a soggy log.

Temporarily Disable Listing 01/22/2016 By dustyriver
Disabled for a few days until a replacement is put in a "Dry" situation. Thanks Live2kcik for the notification on your 271 consecutive day of caching.

Original cache found buried under large rocks. Repaired cache in place. Lighter colored rock along concrete edge. Please don't rehide cache under large rocks, this is caching, not rock lifting.
