Caching my way from Grand Junction to Pagosa Springs on a warm overcast day.
Decided to take an extended driving break and hike the Bear Creek trail up to the Grizzly Bear mine (saw no bears today, which is good since there are very limited escape options). After a few loops around gz, I read the logs and saw I was hunting a ghost. I placed a purple bison tube in a location that should weather well... Tftc!

Container needs replaced. The CO hasn't logged in for 2 years, so the next cacher should plan on bringing a replacement.

I picked this one up while in the local area during the end of the June transition month for what I called the "Freeze and Fry Run"...snivel cold at night and in the morning, sun beating hot in the afternoon. I had to go to Cortez, CO to pick up some old friends from New Jersey to act as their tour guide while enroute to DIA. Of course, I was trying to hike and pick up a few caches before they arrived. I decided to give this one a try because it looked fun, had a decent D/T rating, and was lonely. I had targeted this cache back in 2015, but I was recalled home early and did not have the opportunity to come after it. While planning this trip, I was surprised to see that there was still no activity on this cache. I thought the trail was super cool, detailing some of that in the previous GC33G8T Its a Stumper and GC33GA8 Bear creek trail logs. Passing GC33GA8 Bear creek trail, the trail once again changed character as the trees return in force...providing much needed protection from the sun and high winds. I was already in sensory overload by the time I arrived at the GZ, only to be confronted with even more great sights to see. The GZ is super cool and I really enjoyed the hunt. Unfortunately, as first mentioned in 2015, the container is totally shot. I found the shattered remains of the container and removed them from the site. Unfortunately, this cache will need replacing and I expended all of the replacement containers I had packed enroute. At least I can add the additional lonely time to my challenge stats. With this find, I now have (counting only 1 year or more lonely) a total of 94 years, 1 months lonely time on 50 caches from 11 North American States & Provinces. Thanks to the CO for excellent site selection and placing this cache, TFTC.

Found it but couldn't sign it... Both sides of it were gone and the log was brown and stale... Really need to replace it... Though the name was very clever and I didn't know what It meant until I saw the cache. TFTC

No chance! Is it still there. Last found was in 2011!
