Made it!

Start at the Bridge Creek Trailhead and follow the "Burro" to get started.
This is our first cache and was a wonderful time for us to place. The high terrain rating is due to the steep trail. We hiked this with 7 kids ages 10 months to 10 years. Not too bad although not for people with a heart condition either. There are a number of great views of the mountains across the valley on this trail.

We will be including a travel bug for each of the kids soon. They didn't arrive in time for placement of the cache.

The cache is not themed in any way except that most of the contents are from the kids supply of goodies at home. The container is a smaller clear Rubbermaid container with a blue edged lid.

Contents of the cache are:

Camera (take a picture of yourself and we'll post it!)
Logbook (which we forgot to fill out ourselves)
Large rubber ball
Sticker
Bird whistle
Handheld video game
Hotwheels car (possibly a couple)
4 AA batteries
2 pens
2 pencils
Mints

Possibly others. There were alot of items brought by the kids to place and some were included then removed. Then included again. ;)

Have fun and please let us know what you think!

 Hints

The name is the main spoiler. Scorched pine is the biggest, deadest tree just upslope from the trail. All the branches are burned on the bottom side from a past fire. You are within 10 - 15 feet of the cache at this point.

Nice day for a hike while camping in the park. The coords seemed to be off by about 50 ft, but we found the Scorched Pine, so all is good. TFTC!

Took a while, but we found it thanks to the name! Coordinates seemed a bit off. TFTC

We did 3.5 miles in the snowy park today and got three caches along this trail. The cache names helped us with all the snow cover. Thanks! Last of the day since I missed it on the way up. Traded wooden nickels.

I searched twice today but no luck for me.

This was our first find on the way up. Liz and I brought along enough food and water for a decent day hike, but of course the altitude also plays a part in how we handle these kinds of excursions. Found the cache without trouble :)

I was out in Denver for a work conference (my first time in the area) and was joined by Lizzybeth13 to spend a few extra days visiting friends and finding caches. Today we took a drive up to this trail in Golden Gate Park to do some hiking and caching. I wanted to get some real hiking in while out in Colorado and this provided this experience :) The peak also gave us our highest-altitude cache find to date! Thanks for placing this one

What an adventure! I joined up with KalahariFox in Denver to stay with some friends out that way. We are Athens, GA based! Besides catching up with old friends, we decided to make a caching adventure out of the trip (duh.). We ended up grabbing many caches (some very desirable ones!) in CO, KS, and NE during our stay. My favorite part is always seeing what kind of wildlife we encounter. This trip we ended up seeing a pronghorn, prairie dogs, turkey vultures and even a prairie rattlesnake! So neat! Thanks for helping make this trip a total delight :)

We decided to take a nice hike up along this geotrail today! We weren't sure if we would get to the top and log all 4 caches, but in the end we did! All are in great condition. FP for the cool scorched pines!

Found with Lidlove on a hike up to Windy Peak. Quick find. Signed log, took a TB to move along, and replaced as found. Thanks!

Beautiful area for hiking. Enjoyed finding the caches along this trail, but we ran out of time and weren't able to get the last, highest one. Everything was in good shape. Thanks for the hide!

The coordinates seemed to be off on this one. Expanded our search area and made the find. Enjoyed the hike up (made it just a short hike). TFTC
