Was mountain biking through the area and found that this one was missing, probably washed away by a flood.

Four sets of eyes on it. Pretty sure someone made off with it.

Maybe I did not look hard enough. But thanks for the tip about the little slot canyon.

Thank you so much for placing this cache! We really enjoyed the journey and the dinosaur tracks that we never would have found otherwise.

There's a trail now! It starts at the parking area and zig-zags down to the canyon floor, past the cottonwood tree, up the other side to the head of the narrow canyon where the dinosaur tracks are and eventually (so I'm told) back to Temple Canyon road. Lots of bikes on the trail today but plenty of wide spots for passing.

That said, when I felt I was getting close I turned on my GPSr and discovered, once again, that I hadn't reloaded local caches into my GPSr after a visit to Pueblo on Tuesday. Noooo!. But wait, is that a cottonwood tree? Yes! and after a short search I found the cache, signed the log and left a fossil tooth and a stubby pencil. Then I tried to get up the slot canyon to see the dinosaur tracks but without co-ordinates, being alone and looking at a couple of steep spots gave up. Still, since the new trail goes to the top it shouldn't be a problem in the future.

Caching in Canon City this crisp, fall morning, working on some challenges. All containers were in great shape. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these fun caches.

What a grand adventure. After the cache we went up the slot canyon to the right to see the dinosaur tracks. We ice skated and had refreshing slip into the ice water pools and clung tenaciously to the rocks on the side. Gorgeous to say the least. Amazed at all of the fossils. Tftc.

Up the draw to find this old Cottonwood Tree. Came across a No Trespass sign? Witch way is No Trespass? Up or Down , or this Way and That! Cache-On! Real Good Spot! The rock formations, and cache. GREAT! Thanks to Room 1009 for the new container in June of 2013, these old caches need to be looked after. Added a salamander & a Knight to guard the cache. SL. TFTC.

I started for this one today, parked at the pull off, got my gear together and walked off. Only to discover that I hadn't put the cache in my GPS. I had studied the sat maps and was sure I knew where I was going but the Private Property signs on the fence turned me back. Now the info is in my GPS (you don't cross the fence, right?) and I'll try again.

This is one of my new favorite spots. The wind gap had water flowing through it which, I've been told, has been dry the past few summers. The dinosaur tracks are well worth the visit, plus you can enjoy the cool air that blows through the sandstone canyon. I'm glad this cache has survived as long as it has considering the location. TNLNSL. TFTC!
