I took today off work to have a 4-day Thanksgiving weekend and decided to do some caching up Poudre Canyon since my wife had to work on Black Friday. After a nice hike up Roaring Creek in search of Dan Edwards' cache of the same name, I headed back down the canyon to the McConnel trailhead. I had never been on this mountain and I really enjoyed it.
I made my way down the trail to the point of needing to go down to the cache. I was glad I had my hiking poles as they really helped to get down and then back up. Found the cache and signed the log book. Then I enjoyed the views down the canyon. Thanks Dug&Aim for placing this nice cache!!!

Thanks for the cache, but no thanks for the hike back up the hill to the trail. That was rough! Had a couple moments on the way down where I thought I might have my own broken ankle story to tell, but made it through unscathed. The cache was in pristine condition, still holding the Donner Party book. I don't normally trade, but this one had some good stuff. I'll have to start bringing some items with me so I can partake next time. Enjoyed the view of the river below, then headed up so I could go down. The dog had no trouble with the hillside, and wasn't sure why I was taking so long. Must be nice.

Fun hike on the trail, then fun hike off the trail - to the cache. I couldn't stop thinking about breaking my ankle on the way to this one. TFTC.

Decided to spend the weekend backpacking with my son so we headed to the Cache La Poudre Wilderness area. We didn't get the chance to see its beauty before the High Park fire but some beauty is eternal. We camped along the South Fork Cache La Poudre river and enjoyed the area the best we could. Cache is in great shape.SL TFTC.

Camping down by the South Fork Cache La Poudre river with my dad and we passed by this cache along the way. It was a very tough hike for us. Thanks for the cache.

What a great hike to a cache, the views were great and the weather was nice and cool. Getting down to the cache is pretty easy but getting back up was the workout of the day. TFTC T-TB LNSL

Found this cache on a wonderful day, spend the day caching along the poudre with a special friend , Doglover3pups but only one the dogs. She is special also. Had a rough time, in a couple ways , but they were solved, the cache found and a very special day. Thanks for the cache. Beautiful views all around. Took nothing , left a TB, and put my name alongside those hardy souls that have found your cache.

This was such a nice day. Good weather with lots of sunshine; however a bit windy on top. Hiking with a good friend and the only lonely pup and at the end a great cache. We had to park along side the highway because the camp ground won't open until Monday. Lots of people working on it. We went to find Dust to Dust and Painted Rocks-doubled back and followed the trail on up. We came back on the Primitive trail. Dipped my favorite TB LNTN TFTC
