Set in honor of the 500th cache of hauberktheold!

To log this cache you must have a minimum of 500 caches. You must also have 10 or more non traditional caches with a minimum of 2 each of mystery/puzzler, multi and Earthcache.
If you do not qualify with these minimums, alternative requirements are listed at end

Container is bigger side of "small" - will hold very small Travel bugs. Easy parking well off hwy

A hauberk is a medieval vest made of heavy leather or chain mail and used to protect the throat and chest. hauberktheold's given moniker is Gary Armour, thus his choice of trail names and the name of the cache. We have cached with Gary several times over the summer months and when he announced that he was nearing his 500th cache, without hesitation I announced that I would set a special cache for him to celebrate and make that 500th find with - and even gave it the name at the instant! Little did I know!

We spent a lot of time in thought on how to build the cache and where to make the hide! Vague ideas running from just a metal cookie tin cache (so as to call it "Armoured") to something more exotic, but . . . . and we were running out of time - by this time Gary had nearly reach 499! It really did not start coming together until late one evening after supper and I was looking at all those tin cans in the trash . . . . . . .

The site was picked based on the nearness of GZ to hauberktheold's home GZ and some reading in a local history book about a fishing hole where the hwy crosses over the Gunnison River, so we picked some coords to start the process and within 150' found the perfect "Castle" for the ARMOURED Knight. It is a goofy cache but am sure you will enjoy it! We had fun building it!

p.s. We were well into the construction of the cache when it dawned on us that OUR 500th find of choice was one of hauberktheold's caches! That was not set up in advance (like this one) but the fact that it was a 6 stage multi with the FTF available made it an easy selection! We LUV multi's, owning one 5 stage, near 2 dozen other 2 stage multi's, and several puzzlers (as does hauberktheold) thus the requirements.

12-6-14 . . . Added spoiler photos of cache as a black flag of fear & warning to those who would come to do battle; first with ARMOURED Knight, then BlackNIGHT and finally White KNIGHT! (see log this date)

ALTERNATE REQUIREMENTS:
A. You may have 250 or more caches with 5 being of hauberktheold and 5 non traditional caches of which 1 must be of his nontraditional - multi or mystery/puzzler - caches.
B. You may have 100 or more caches with 10 being of hauberktheold and 5 nontraditional caches of which 2 must be of his nontraditional - multi or mystery/puzzler - caches
C. If you do not meet any of the above required finds, you may "Write a Note" at the time of your find and later log it as "found" (and reference your previous log date) once you have the required totals.

FTF CONGRATS TO hauberktheold and for his 500th find! 11-7-14

We were lucky and could find the cache quickly ... but as we spotted it we first were scared a bit as we saw a snake's skin (probably from a rattlesnake ) lying around the cache container ! Fortunately it was just the dead skin of a snake ! By the way , we always use a big stick while caching in snake areas in the USA !
Unfortunately there was quite a lot of trash lying around what makes us really sad and angry ! We collected most of it ... .
TFTC and especially thanks for this challenge & greetings from Germany !
PS : picture will be attached to prove the log condition .
