This cache is located at Sapphire Point Overlook...a great place to bring the family. This is a nice place to have lunch... about half way around the .6 mile loop there are picnic tables. Bring seeds/nuts as there are chipmunks you can feed. They'll come right up & even sit on your hand (or head) to eat. Bring hand sanitizer for after the munk feeding. This trail is accessable by car, or you can take the newer portion of the bike path to get there. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!!
You can sit & watch your buddies retrieve this cache, or just get it yourself. There are many tradeables located inside. Be sure if you take something out to leave something in return. Please respect nature & don't leave anything unnecessary behind. If you're not from altitude, don't forget to take your water! Congrats to cobabies for FTF!

#3317 - nice hike. Found replacement. Nothing else within 40 feet of GZ with satellite coords on my Garmin. Certainly no ammo box!

Logging some caches from a recent trip. Geopartner and I spent awhile searching for this one on 8/2. Sent the CO a note that it was likely gone and offered to search again with more info, but didn't hear back. Saw another cacher had put out a replacement cache, so went back today and found that one. Also, geopartner and I searched again for original cache over a wide area with no success. The original cache is gone, or its one of those little micro ammo cans, or someone relocated it well away from the GZ. Fifteen dnfs and 1 find. Don't like to doubt other cachers, but since the cacher reporting the find only has 3 I have to wonder if they found the actual original cache. Anyway, it is a nice and pretty, short hike and this cache compliments the other cache on the trail. Thanks for establishing it!

I appreciate a second cache being placed, however, when looking at the past logs, the original was found about a week ago. Therefore, I’m not sure why someone else would place a new container?? So I think my original container should be there. It’s a green ammo box. If you find something other than the ammo box, please don’t count it as a find or I will have no way of ensuring the original is there when I monitor the log entries. Thanks! If you find the ammo box, please remove the second container that someone else placed. Thank you!
