MinieB is a prolific hider! I have been able to make good use of her many hides to fill in a large number of my FTF calendar days. In fact, she has so many hides that it proved to be quite the challenge to find a suitable location to place her tribute. She seems to like to rate her hides 1.5/1.5. I decided to get her to stretch, both figuratively and literally, with this cache. I'm sure that people will argue about whether this was correctly a 2.0/3.0 or a 3.0/2.0. Whatever your point of view, make sure you pay attention to the attributes and come prepared for this one.

When I see one of MinieB's caches publish I launch my web browser to have a look. I know that I've got to milk each opportunity for an FTF for all it's worth. Then I hop in my car and position my foot so that it jabs that accelerator pedal!

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.

GC85 generally writes good log posts. I have to say that this one has to be at the top of the list. If I could give a favorite for a log post, I would. Instead, I'll have to settle for giving it a "Great story!"

When this published, I immediately sent a message to MinieB to let her know - she has another tribute! I am not at all surprised. I only regret that we were on our way to Topeka, KS when the gang went out with MinieB for her FTF the day after it published. What can I say about MinieB? She is smart, kind, generous, funny, and one heck of an engineer and artist when it comes to creating her geocaches/puzzles and cache pages. This one gets a favorite point of course.

Now, on to the second half of this log write up. Sometimes, I truly wonder how I survive in this world. This series is events makes me scratch my head and wonder again. I wanted to do a short 10 mile ride and so I was aiming for this cache and a gadget cache down on Zuni Street. Tricia even humored me and let me borrow a 9 volt battery she was using (needed for the gadget cache). I asked MinieB how high her tribute cache was was so I’d have good tools. She offered to let me use a tool she has but I wanted to try what I had first. Armed with my step stool, foldable grabber, and 9 volt battery I confidently headed out on my bike.

Well, that step stool and grabber didn’t do the trick. MinieB was right (as usual…heh heh). So off the the next cache I went with my 9 volt battery. When I was nearing GZ a couple of miles away for the next cache, I realized I did not have my phone! Had I left it on the top of my bike bag and it fell off on my ride? Or was it back at the last cache? Shoot!

I pedaled back up the hill looking along the road to see if it had dropped along the way - nope. As I rode up to the MinieB Tribute again, I saw two cachers with a TOTT. Little did I know that those two cachers were sjbliv and ExM52. ExM52 and I had a co-FTF years ago at Golden Cemetery and have been friends on the geocaching app ever since. His partner in crime, sjbliv, and I have become friends through the app as well (I love her geology-themed caches and the fact that she and ExM52 are bikers as well). But this was the first time I got to meet sjbliv in person. Also, she had my phone (thank goodness!). Hugs were in order.

I mooched off of them and used their TOTT to get a smiley, snapped a photo for their 1500th find, snapped the attached photo of the 3 of us to prove that this wacky event actually happened, and then decided to NOT test my luck and just call it a day and bike home. This is almost as good as the time I lost my phone in a snowbank in Breck while geocaching. TFTMC, VTA and the fitting tribute to MinieB. Happy caching and Happy New Year!!!

Thanks, vegantriathlete, for recognizing MinieB! It’s always exciting to see a new cache by MinieB published, and there couldn’t be a more friendly cacher.
We tried this last week without sufficient TOTT ??? ???. Back today with the right equipment.
We also chose to make this our
end-of-year and #1500th find!

Holy heck! As we approached the cache we found a cell phone on the ground, displaying the cache page for this cache…but no one around—very ominous! I texted the last person who was here, but then we turned around and saw geocyclist85 cycling toward us like a bat out of…well, you get the idea. She’d returned to find her phone and I finally got to meet her in person! Woo hoo!

This was one of the caches we had on our list for today. Seeing that it hadn't been found yet, we wanted to wait and talk to MinieB at the event and then head over with her after the event. After attending the Cachemas Holiday Cookiemob Event, we tried to keep up with MinieB as we made our over to grab her tribute cache. I had the right TOTT to help make the grab. There was a nice size group of attendees from the event that was there. After the cache was returned back to its proper location, we stood under the tree and had a nice chat with everyone and then soon parted ways. Nice hide and camo, SL,TNLN,TFTC

I saw this one publish last night and put it on the list to go find today. I've enjoyed solving and finding a number of MinieB caches, including some today! TFTC!
