Greyrock Mountain (elevation 7,613 feet) in Larimer County has a highly distinctive profile from Interstate 25 and other eastern vantages. Its steep southern aspect shows dramatically in silhouette as seen from the east. Many admirers of this Ranked Peak do not realize that the mountain’s lines from other directions are also remarkable and highly distinctive. Views of this mountain from various directions are breathtaking, and each provides a special profile dimension of Greyrock.
In June 2010 I published the first in a series of caches about these distinctive directional profiles: "Profiles of Greyrock Mountain--Northeastern View" (GC26C63). The series grew to include 10 caches plus a mystery cache that requires visits to eight of these original caches. The profile caches became popular with serious back-country geocachers and those original caches, plus others I've created in the Greyrock Mountain area since that first one, now comprise about 20 caches.

 "AIGUILLE DU GREYROCK”

https://www.jigidi.com/solve/d2ysndav/02-01-09/

Directly west of Greyrock Mountain is a tower that rises above the west side of Greyrock Meadow; it is shown on the USGS Poudre Park quadrangle as Point 7456. This highly distinctive feature is referred to by backcountry advocates as the “Aiguille du Greyrock” (Needle of Greyrock). It is a Ranked Peak and is rarely climbed by peak baggers--in part because of its remoteness, but primarily because its precipitous terrain is imposing and suggests that all possible routes to its summit would require technical climbing methods and equipment. There is, however, a route on this "needle's" north side that can be climbed without technical gear if you have appropriate skills and feel comfortable in climbing using small foot and handholds on steep, exposed rock. The final 100 feet of distance to the small summit involves continuous Class 3 and Class 4 climbing terrain. A fall on the Class 4 stretches could be fatal, so only choose to make the climb of the aiguille if you have experience in this type of rock scrambling and have developed comfort in exposed situations. A geocache near the aiguille's summit, GC2KRKN, was published in 2010 and has been logged nine times to the date of this jigsaw's publication.
After you complete the Jigidi puzzle a "completion" message will provide the coordinates of this cache as well as a solid hint for finding it. The hike involves approximately 2 1/2 miles round trip, much of it on trail.  The final section is off-trail and requires some bushwhacking.  Enjoy the puzzle and the cache-finding experience.  As a personal reward, make a climb of the aiguille and nail the cache near its summit!

3rd find of 2024. A trail of sorts leads up near here. Thanks again for another puzzle and a hiker's cache. #8691

I was sitting in my recliner half watching some TV and half reading stuff on my tablet last night when I received the email notices that the two Greyrock Profile puzzle caches had been published. I long ago found all of the Profiles of Greyrock caches and the bonus cache so I was eager to see what these new caches were like. I checked out the cache pages and saw they were both jigidi puzzles so I got up and headed for the computer to start putting them together. I got a good start last night on puzzle #1 and finished it this morning. Then I worked through this puzzle and finished it a few hours later.

So with the coordinates for the two new caches, plus some others I had on my target list for this area, my puppy Angel and I set off for Poudre Canyon a little after noon. After arriving at the parking spot we headed up the trail to #1 first and got the FTF on it. Then we headed off for #2. We arrived at GZ and the hint was spot on, making the find an easy one. Opened the container to find a blank log so I signed it in the {FTF} position. After placing everything back as found, we headed for our third target of the day.

Thanks Denali41 for creating these new Greyrock Profiles caches!!!
