This cache has been placed with the blessing of the Steamboat Lake/Pearl Lake State Park Management. Thank you!

While this cache is technically on National Forest land, (by about 20') parking is in the State Park, so a pass must be purchased. $7.00 Daily or $70.00 Annual.

An easy hike (3/4 to 1 mile, one way) along an established trail at the beautiful Pearl Lake State Park.

Cache can also be reached by canoeing the lake, and climbing a short ways up the hill. <--Our favorite option!!!
Early mornings find this lake made of GLASS! You can almost count the needles on the trees in the reflection on the lake! It is one of the most beatiful locations in Colorado!

The cache is a camouflaged ammo can.

My hike along the shoreline was warm and humid after the rain shower stopped. The water seemed to calm a bit after the winds left with the rain. The trees in the aspen grove up hill from the shoreline trail were turning a golden hue, earlier than the other stands further up the hill side. It was pretty and warming to know that the season is starting to change.
The situation at GZ was much the same as it was for the last cache, abundant with downed trees and wet grasses. This container was a bit easier to spot than the last one back down the shoreline trail. Contents in good shape. Nice hide. Thanks for the long hike along the shoreline. Surprised at another log in for today.

Looked for quite a while. Many perfect places for a cache, but no luck. Seems like a cache this size would be easy to spot. Maybe next time.
