He's Going The Distance

Rocky A series of caches in tribute to The Italian Stallion Himself. A slightly larger than normal match container placed around the parking area of Trail head 716 of Mt Herman (about 5 miles up Mt Herman Road). Requires a steep climb and sure footing up the hill to retrieve this one. The Difficulty rating in the winter months will be much higher due to ice and snow, so be careful. Each Cache in this series will get slightly more difficult in terrain as we head up the mountain.

Out with Kerewin0430 today. After finding another nearby cache, we made our way up to this one, Going the Distance... :-) Thanks for the interesting hide!

I pity the fool who does not give this cache an effort to find it!! Let's say the effort up is well worth it and a leg burner for you possibly. Thanks Dusty for the cache up there and the extra Dusty surprises in the container. BTW, the log and inside was a touch damp from the recent rains which is odd given it is a match stick container...

9:24 AM We are here from Dallas for our typical August vacation in Divide in order to skip the Texas heat for a couple of weeks.

Today I am hiking around Mt. Herman with WingsAndTails.

This was the first one off the trailhead. W&T had already found this one but let/helped me log this one.

I signed the log. Thanks, Dusty47, for the cache.

This was my first find of the day. Nice rockpile at the hilltop, and the clue was very helpful. There were a ton of brass ammo casings on the ground nearby, so I gathered a few to place in the cache in case someone can recycle them.

Oh boy, what a hill! Glad I didn't have to get creative once I got to GZ! Found it quickly, but the log has seen better days. Had to sign very lightly to keep it from ripping. Thanks for the cache!
