Get out and see the wilderness!
This cache is placed beside an old mining "glory hole." If the prospectors thought that an area might have gold in it then they dug one of these. If no gold, they left a nice crater in the ground for everybody to see over 100 years later. Have fun.

Big tree on east side of glory hole. On the east side of that tree the cache can be found tucked into it's small rock fortress.

Having celebrated our Thanksgiving a few days ago with a bunch of our friends from church, we decided to take advantage of this gorgeous Thursday to get up to Woodland Park and hike on some of our favorite trails.
No problems finding this cache but we think it was a replacement container dropped by mountainbear and Java Chip on 3/31/18. The log sheet was only in a plastic bag, so we added a cameod pill bottle to keep the bag dry. Replaced as found. Thanks and Blessed Thanksgiving!

Saw where the rock castle was (south of the hole not east) the cache was no where to be found.

Saw everything just as the hint says... but the fortress held a nice stick. No sign of a cache around.

Took my Webelos den on a 3.5 mile hike and got this along the way. The boys were excited to learn about geocaching.

I've seen many holes like this all over the mountains. So crazy to think of all the miners that dug around these hills looking for wealth. Sl, thanks!

Nice hike to this one too on such a beautiful last day of winter. Glad we didn't take the direct route from the previous cache.
