Crested Butte Trailhead Series
Welcome to the Crested Butte Trailhead series of caches. There are wonderful hiking and mountain biking trails here in the Gunnison Valley. For our hikers and bikers alike, I designed this series for cachers to log some finds before hitting the trails. The caches are near the trailheads, so no hiking or biking required. However, that does not make them park and grabs.

Crested Butte is blessed with numerous trails that justify its promising designation as “The Wildflower Capital of Colorado.” Stroll along an old dirt road, flanked with flowers, to enjoy sunshine and the colorful sloped meadow on the backside of 12,000-foot-plus Crested Butte Mountain. A path turns left, curving up through aspen trees and on around to rejoin the road forming a “keyhole” loop. Following this loop will allow you to view about five dozen different kinds of wildflowers.
This cache is too small for trade items.
Please re-hide the caches exactly how you found it so others may enjoy the same experience you did. With that in mind, no spoiler pictures or hints in your logs.
Edit 5/2/2016: Snow plows have destroyed the original container and the hiding place. Please just take the log out of the hiding container, do not try to disassemble the whole kit and caboodle.
