Watering Hole at Side Show!

Watering hole may refer to:

  • A geologic depression in which water collects and where animals come to drink.
  • A bar, tavern, pub, or other local drinking establishment.

In this case, the Forest Service was good enough to tap a nearby spring and setup a stock tank for the free-range livestock to drink from. This is one of our favorite places in the circus trail complex as it's somewhat secluded, yet still fairly easy to get to!

Enjoy the Side Show! (the name of trail this is placed along. AKA trail number 891.A

Congrats to 3 Williams Kidz for the FTF on 8/1/2020!

Pulled in off the main road and parked and hiked .37 miles to the cache. I always passed this road but never knew where it went to. Now I know. There was a family camped near the Y intersection. Hung a left and in no time at all, I was near GZ. Was an easy find after seeing the hint logged by the 3 Williams Kidz. SL, TN and placed back exactly as I found it. Oh yeah....visited with the cows that stopped to get a drink of water. Thanks for placing this great cache. Good job! I had fun.

Woo-HOO, FTF at 1120 !
ATTACHED PHOTOS WERE TAKEN AFTER FINDING THE CACHE, AND WHILE AT GZ AND THEN WHILE HEADED BACK OUT
Today was my first opportunity to go for this new cache, and very thankfully, nobody had found it before I got there. Made the easy drive that any vehicle can do to the beginning of the Forest Road at N 38 54.545 W 105 22.364
3200 feet to go, and the road going east looks AOK for my Grand Cherokee, so I kept driving and had no problem at all to the Y intersection at N 38 54.605 W 105 21.920
800 feet to go and while the road going north from there to GZ looked OK at that point, I played it safe, parked and got out to go for the nice easy walk.
In that last 800 feet, there were one or two spots that were a bit more than I would have been comfortable with, but MAY have gotten through, but I always play better safe than sorry, and was glad to get within 800 feet.
Got to the Watering Hole itself which is a quality setup by the Forest Service (see attached photo) -- nice clean water with a continuously running inlet and a drain line feeding into a drainage that runs downhill (which is less than a foot across).
The cache is across that drainage, but is EASY to just step over.
Found the container and the clean log !
Stamped it, took the wooden FTF token (thanks!) left one bit of new swag, and a new trackable of ours -- Watering Hole Beaver Dude (TB9DRFD) that we made for our adventure to this cache.
Favorite point for the great location, nice easy walk through the trees in the sunshine and the clean air, and the new ammo can for the owner's first hide !
All around, top notch -- great job !!!
