May require wading  Not Available during winter  Motorcycles  Quads  Off-road vehicles  Medium hike (1km-10km)

The 4.5 Terrain rating is based on the trail to Grizzly Lake from St. Elmo. This is a serious 4X4 trail not for inexperienced drivers or most stock SUVs. Hiking the 4X4 track is rocky and gains about 1200 ft in 2.8 miles. The reward is a beautiful and remote mountain lake at over 11,000 ft. I doubt this area is open more that a few months each year. Please use the following link for a good description of the 4X4 trail. http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=55

Second attempt at this one after the snow earlier in the season turned us around. Anyway, it was well worth the return trip with Java Chip! Beautiful views!!! TFTC!

Our sincerest apologies for these overdue logs. Sometimes life gets in the way and when it does geocaching takes a backseat.

This cache was found while we were visiting the area for a week after GWXIV. We're from CT and htis was our first time in Colorado. We introduced our local friends to geocaching and took them to as many awesome caches, like this one, as we could in the hopes that they will continue after we're gone.

What a hike to get here - since we unknowingly went off the trail! Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache - it's appreciated!

Jeep on caching!

This Was a Challenging ride to Grizzly Lake for an afternoons fishing. Made it up the trail with a razor and my 13 month old granddaughter and 6 other ATV'S. First rock obstacle at the start of the trail took awhile to get all through but the fishing at the top was worth the trip not to mention the views were awesome.

My first cache. Beautiful spot, and the fishing was great too. We go to Grizzly Lake every year and knew exactly where the cache was based on the photos. I've delayed looking for others because I wanted this one to be my first. I've eaten lunch at that very spot almost every time I go up there and never knew I was sitting on a cache. The trackables are all gone and only pennies remain, but the log is dry and the cache is in very good condition. Thanks for a great cache.

Yahoo, we found this cache. Cool Thanks a bunch!

We were with the FMCA 4-Wheel club having a great time driving this trail and stopped to have lunch at the lake. I did not know this cache was here until running into fellow geocachers that had already found it. I was the last to find this cache just before we all loaded up and headed back down the trail. So this was a bonus while having a enjoyable day on the trail.

Thanks for placing this cache. You could not have picked a more beautiful spot.
