This cache is the second of four in the #11 series of Rocky Mountain off-road caches located along the challenging and often muddy Green Ridge Trail.
The Green Ridge Trail starts out from Laramie River Road off of Hi 14 on the East side of Chambers Lake.
This trail is moderately challenging and should only be attempted if you have the right vehicle and lots of experience.
This trail, besides mud has a lot of large and in some cases deep puddles. Plan accordingly.
The trail is lengthy at approximately 18+ miles.

This trail cannot easily be done on foot.
Do NOT do this trail alone.

Directions from Hiway 14: Turn right on Laramie River Road and go North approximately 1.6 miles to the trailhead. There are restroom facilities as well as a place to air down your tires.(See waypoint TRLHD)

Went after this one after bagging Twin Lakes. Thought that I was being smart by following a trail that ran between the lakes. Thought it was a short cut. Thought that it would lead me back to the road and it would be easy. Nope. After bushwacking through dense forest to get Twin Lakes, I wound up leading our party through more bushwacking to get this one! It worked out fine though. We encounterd an owl that had just obtained its "lunch". A small owl that refused to let go of the squirrel that it had just nabbed and was too heavy to fly away with. It allowed us to take some neat pics of something that is rarely seen. This owl was serious! It was not about to part with it's hard won meal! Super cache that was well earned and rewarded. Easy to get to if you go by the road. Not so easy if you do it the way we did! TFTC!! :-)
