Not Recommended for kids  Takes more than an hour  Scenic view  Available during winter  Field Puzzle  Medium hike (1km-10km)

A 2 stage field puzzle for those who like views, hiking and sudoku.

The Stage 1 container IS at the posted coordinates. Instructions and everything you need are inside although you might want a pen and paper to make notes or something.

There are several available routes. The easier but longer route starts at the Mt Cutler trailhead in Cheyenne Canyon. You can take that trail to the Mt Muscoco trail (waypoints provided) which will take you close to Stage 1. That route is about 3.5 miles round trip and the trail gets fairly steep in places. I recommend the shorter, even steeper route. It starts a little further up the canyon (see waypoints). I think I ended up making 11 total trips to place this cache. The final time being with The Lady Gypsy, for the second time that day, after a dinner party, in her skirt, in the dark, on a moonless night, by the light of my old school flip phone. There are some cliffs nearby so I don't recommend this cache for small children. I doubt the field puzzle should take as long as an hour but if you like the puzzle there are more you could do just for fun. I'd count on at least a 3 hour trip. If the weather's nice, it's a gorgeous spot for a picnic. Enjoy :-)

If you have a smartphone, you can check your answers for this puzzle on GeoChecker.com

Special thanks to all our friends and fam who helped us and who we dragged up here: Seth+China, Paul, Joshua, Isaiah, my parents et al.

Since you're in the area, if you haven't done it, I recommend you try Crypto Cache # 4 - The Beale Papers

If you liked this field puzzle you could try one of our other (very different) ones- Our field puzzles.

Congratulations to ernie66 and estes01 on FTF

Awesome hike!

We found this on the way back to the truck after my Let's Go For A Hike Event. I did not find it at the same time as Backcountry Horsemen, as she found it on the way to the event.

Cool puzzle, gets a fave for being unique. Thanks for the cache, and the oldie but goodie!

Made this hike today with Mike of Mikeandjuli. We hiked to the Green settlement for an event, and grabbed this on the way back. We actually solved this back in September, but didnt make it out here until today. Julie from back Country Horseman got it before us, but i'm still jazzed that we logged this "lonely" cache. Container and contents are still in great shape. TFTC!

Wow solved this a couple of years ago & finally got to the final today. Tough hike! Lonely cache-3 years! Picked up both TBs.

After visiting the site a few times with limited time, we finally completed the entire adventure as needed for the smiley! On the first visit, Java Chip slid off the moss-covered rock and needed some first aid. The second visit stayed injury free, so we headed up to the 2nd location and searched for quite a while before finding what we needed to complete the puzzle...our brains! We almost had the solution, when BZGCFJ came up with a brilliant way to cheat. Realizing that it wouldn't work, we were rewarded with having to start over. Still, it was a fun puzzle and we soon had the coords for the final. So, we headed up to the top to sign the log. Sometimes one should not make assumptions as to where the final might be and actually follow the GPS! Still, this one was super fun and deserves a favorite point for sure! Thanks gypsies!
