crossroad

noun

1:  a road that crosses a main road or runs cross-country between main roads

2:  the place of intersection of two or more roads

3:  a small community located at such a crossroads

4:  a central meeting place

5:  a crucial point especially where a decision must be made

This cache is located at the crossroad(s) of County Road 98 and County Road 100 in Teller County.

Crossroads is also a famous blues and rock song:  "Crossroads" was originally written and performed by Robert Johnson (1911-1938) as "Crossroad Blues" in 1936. Other musicians who have recorded versions of the song include Elmore James, Cream, Eric Clapton, The Allman Brothers, Ry Cooder, The Cowboy Junkies, Rush and John Mayer.

Legend has it that Robert Johnson met the devil at a crossroads and gave him his soul in exchange for mastery of the guitar. Steeped in mystery, killed mysteriously, his legend eclipsed only by his skill, Robert Johnson was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.

Congratulations to JJtheNinja for this, her second FTF in this area today !!

Full lyrics:

I went to the crossroad, fell down on my knees
I went to the crossroad, fell down on my knees
Asked the Lord above, "Have mercy, now, save poor Bob if you please"

Yeah, standin' at the crossroad, tried to flag a ride
Ooh-ee, I tried to flag a ride
Didn't nobody seem to know me, babe, everybody pass me by

Standin' at the crossroad, baby, risin' sun goin' down
Standin' at the crossroad, baby, risin' sun goin' down
I believe to my soul, now, poor Bob is sinkin' down

You can run, you can run, tell my friend Willie Brown
You can run, you can run, tell my friend Willie Brown
That I got the crossroad blues this mornin', Lord, baby, I'm sinkin' down

And I went to the crossroad, mama, I looked East and West
I went to the crossroad, baby, I looked East and West
Lord, I didn't have no sweet woman, ooh well, babe, in my distress

#1004 for team Torkelson--today was a 7 cache day, this was #1/7. Loop took about 2.5 hours with a 30 min relax at the Hartsdale #5 cache, mild hike, beautiful day, fall colors. This cache is in great shape adjacent to the cut wood. SL, took TBs and coins, left a football, an "Irish Proverb", and a ruler. TFTC!

Out today with estes01 to do some short hikes in this area, along with a few 3WK caches. We searched for a while, then a while longer before finally finding it. I looked in that spot a couple of times before looking closer and seeing the cache tucked way in there. Traded out one of the trackables, TFTC!

2TF this morning while out with Geo-pup, Boysie. I could have not done it without her. Had trouble because of the bounce of the GPS. But, who can't find an ammo can? Another good hide by the 3 Williams Kidz. SL , praised the dog, gave her a biscuit and on to the next. Proud Mama.
TFTC.
