CONGRATULATIONS TO icezebra11 FOR THE FTF!!

This mystery cache requires the seeker to visit two other caches in Young Gulch in order to obtain information that allows the calculation of its coordinates.  The final stage of Young Gulch Multi--Reprised (GC8G9JM) has information taped to the cache log that provides one portion of the required information.  The remainder of the needed information is given in the container for Young Gulch Cache--Reprised (GC8G9JM).  Look on the inside of the ammo box lid for it.  After getting instructions from both of these caches, you have all you need to determine the exact coordinates.  Make the calculations and then go find the container for this mystery cache.

 

The cache is located fairly close to the Young Gulch Trail.  Only limited bushwhacking is required to reach it, but be prepared to scramble over  fallen logs that were only partially burned in the High Park Fire in 2012. The container is a small one approximately 1-quart in size.

 

Have a fun hike along the recently re-opened trail!  Take your doggies and kids.  Have a picnic.

Today, Denali41 and I took the opportunity to get out for a hike with his lab pups Zaba and Chimi and my lab pup Angel, and enjoy the weather before tomorrow's cold and snowy conditions arrive. We arrived at the trailhead at about 9 am and found an empty parking lot. After donning our packs, the five of us set off on the trail with the goal of reaching the terminus near Stove Prairie Rd. And along the way, I wanted to complete several caches including this one.

The last time I was up the trail was on Super Bowl Sunday. That day I was able to find the prerequisite Young Gulch Cache - Reprised and the first two stages of the Young Gulch Multi - Reprised but struck out on the final due to it being buried in snow. So after finding the final of the multi, I had all the information necessary to calculate the coordinates for this cache.

After doing the calculations I discovered that it was still ahead of us so when we finally got near GZ, Denali41 waited on the trail while I headed for the hiding spot. As usual, his coordinates were spot on and it was a quick find once I got to the search area.

I was pleased to find a blank log and I happily signed it in the {FTF} position. After placing everything back, I headed back down to the trail and we continued on our way. Thanks Denali41 for another well-done puzzler!!!
