This is the first in a series of caches related to Boulder history.

Cache final is not at the given coords.  This is ideal for biking as parking can be iffy.

At the given coords, you will find a monument with several informational plaques commemorating an old structure which used to be located nearby.

Let A = the year the structure was dedicated

Let B = the year the structure was razed

Final is at 40 2.(A - 1481), -105 14.(B - 1052)

The final is a black bison, no pen, and, due to the high concentration of finals in the area, is a short (< 1/4 mi) walk or bike ride from the monument.

Sorry, I messed up when I originally posted this. I have updated it accordingly. Final is still at the same location.

Found it today on a little geocaching run for my birthday. I love a good DES multi and this didnt disappoint! I used be dates that explicitly stated a structure was “built” or “razed” and didn’t have an issue. The final is in a likely spot, so if you find your coords talk no you somewhere random, check again! Thanks for the fun one!

The CO should make the questions more clear. We made the same mistake as the first finder and had to go back to the start. TFTC

I see why the first finder got confused. So did we ...
The CO has combined the build date of one structure (the "G") and the demolition of the other (the "S") to get the coordinate set. Like the first finder, we found ourselves in an unlikely spot assuming that both dates needed to belong to the same structure. CO might want to check on the plaque one more time.

Once we decided to try swapping things a bit, we found a more likely location, and we were able to make the grab.

FTF with my dad at 1:45 PM. We started out searching the wrong area, and were close to giving up. We stopped at the plaque on the way back and realized we used the wrong date for one of the coordinates. Entered the correct date into the equation and it was a quick find after that. SL. TFTC!
