Raptors (birds of prey)-Owls, eagles, falcons, and hawks along this trail. Talon Trail was appropriately named as this trail leads into raptor habitats. As you hike or bike this trail you will notice different feeding grounds from the prairies and into the wooden areas. The prairie dogs, rabbits, ground squirrels, etc. support peregrine falcons, prairie falcons, golden eagles, burrowing owls, ferruginous hawks, bald eagles (winter visitor). Raptors that are supported by the wooded and cliff areas include: federally protected Mexican spotted owls, kestrels, sharp shinned hawks, and gyrfalcons (very rare winter visitor).

Cache is a two part multi with the first stage being a micro that contains the info to lead you to the final stage - ammo can. Final cache original contents include: logbook & pencil, mini playing cards, Starbucks gift card, small first aid kit, CD holder, carabiner light, puzzles, etc.

Please stick to established trails. All the twists and turns of the trail system have been designed to get you safely through the terrain and to protect the wildlife habitat. There is nothing to be gained by trying to take a shortcut.

Riding the mountain bike this evening. Been living across the street from the park for 2 years and finally decided to find some hides. Rode to stage 1 was alright and I found the film canister on the ground out in the open. (I wedged in a short stump on the north side of the trail, you can reach it without your feet leaveing the path). Anyway plotted stage 2 and started the long uphill ride. Found the final fast enough and then had a chat with a fellow biker that said he'd just seen a on Talon north! Well there sun was getting low and I was pooped. Nice downhill ride all the way home!! Thanks!!

Found first part the last time I was here. It is aligned with natural camouflage. Struggled the first time looking for part two, but today, the GPS was spot on target. Cache is in good shape, other than some small ants using it for shade.

Circled and paced all through these trees forever...never found stage 1.

After the CITO, and after the walk with munchkins, I still wasn't ready to go home...Colorado parks are just so well maintained and full of beautiful nooks & crannies. (Also, I had paid for park admission!) Of course I wanted to pick up the other caches in the area...this was one!

Struggled with stage 1 and had to PAF. Was hooked up with some useful information and found the final without any difficulty! Thanks for placing this multi! Loved the hike/trail run!

I failed to spot the first waypoint. Oh well.

This one was quite the hike. I found the first waypoint and there were only one set of coordinates for the final. I quick looked at a few of the logs and they stated "just TRUST" the coordinates from the first container. Wow. This one is quite a ways away. It was such a nice morning so I desided to go for it. I got to the Final coordinates and I could see something under the sticks. NICE!! WOO HOO. It is there. Stamped the log and now a LONG hike back to the truck. [8d][8d] SL TFTC
