We decided to explore the Mt. Evans Widlife Management Area. We figured it would be nice and quiet during the winter season, a good place to exercise the dog and maybe pick up a few geocaches. We were right about the quiet and the dog, but not about the geocaches. There were none! So we set to rectify that problem. This is the second one we hid and it markes our turn-around point. Spectacular view of the Mt. Evans batholith from here, and the resulting peaks: Rosalie, Bierstadt, Evans and Rodgers.

Included winter parking coordinates. The road is closed Labor Day through Memorial Day, and area is closed during hunting season (to non-hunters, from Labor Day through mid-November).

I actually had trouble finding it. Its really not that hard, I just remembered a different hiding place (I think I had trouble deciding at the time, and kept moving it around). It is withing about 20' of the GZ, which isn't bad for a place this remote.

That is a great view, thanks!

Had an early morning drive in the foothills, before it got too hot - this was the last of four geocaches that I found along the way. TN-LN-SL. Thanks !

10:04:00 AM Decided to get some exercise today. Parked the car at the parking coords for Psiloscops and then grabbed my bike and road to all three caches. (Well, I ditched my bike on the side of the road for Squaw/Chief). Signed the logs and left a scrabble tile in each cache. Thanks! By the time I got here, I had really low blood sugar and no more carbs on me. Luckily, there was a family getting out of their car that gave me a bunch of raisins! I didn't realize how much work it was going to be to ride to this cache!

With the area being closed for most of the year and no camping the area has a pristine feeling.

After finding the cache I drove on up to the end and there was a couple of cars parked there.

Thanks for another cache to hunt up!

CO-[FTF] with @windatmyback on 12-11-17 at 3:00 pm. @windatmyback and I walked up here and located the cache right at the GZ. Unfortunately the road is closed and it was a 1.9 mile walk to the cache this time of year. For those willing to wait, the road reopens in the spring. Did a little CITO during our hike. Tftc!

CO-FTF with hubby @LostinDenver nice hike to the spot. Clever hide. This one gets a favorite. We wandered around for 15 minutes looking for it. Coordinates are good. TFTC
